NSCDC Commandant-General Retires from Service

Dr. Ahmed Audi, the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has officially retired after reaching the mandatory retirement age and completing his tenure. He assumed his role in March 2021, appointed by the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dr. Ahmed Audi, who served as the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), formally retired from service on Thursday. His retirement comes after fulfilling the mandatory retirement age as well as completing his term in office.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Audi took office on March 1, 2021, following his appointment by the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Audi marked his final day in office while commemorating the 2026 World Civil Defence Day at the NSCDC Headquarters located in Abuja.

As of now, the Federal Government has not yet named his successor.

Dr. Audi, originally from Nasarawa State, was born on September 30, 1967. He earned a PhD in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and obtained a Master’s in Public Business Administration from the University of Calabar. He is also a member of the National Institute (mni).
