Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, has asserted that due to the substantial achievements of his administration, the state has effectively become a no-go area for opposition political factions.

This declaration was echoed by Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), who asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised for a decisive victory in the South-south region in the upcoming elections.

At the inauguration of the newly completed 4.8-kilometre Oko–Amakom/Oko- Obiokpu/Oko-Anala Road in Oko Kingdom, along with other road networks in Asaba—situated in the Oshimili South Local Government Area—Oborevwori articulated that the extensive infrastructure investments made under his leadership have fostered public trust in governance and positioned Delta State for sustained political influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor remarked, “In the 2023 elections, I secured victories in 21 out of the 25 local government areas, even before taking office. Given the progress and projects we have accomplished within just three years, Delta State has indeed become a no-go zone for other political parties.”

Oborevwori affirmed that his administration remains focused on implementing transformative projects that significantly improve residents' lives, further stating that the newly launched road projects are crucial for enhancing economic activities and fostering better connectivity among communities.

He explained that the Oko–Amakom/Oko-Obiokpu/Oko-Anala Road will greatly facilitate transportation for local farmers, allowing them to efficiently transport their goods to marketplaces, ultimately reducing poverty and enhancing rural economies.

Recalling the challenges faced in the past, the governor noted that the terrain around Oko was particularly treacherous, especially during the rainy season, severely hindering farmers' abilities to market their produce.

“Today, I am pleased to announce the completion of this road, which will enable farmers to transport their fresh produce to the markets more easily, thereby improving their income and living standards,” he added.

Oborevwori also expressed confidence that the contractor will finish the work ahead of the established timeline.

In related developments, Otuaro has proclaimed that the South-south region is set to deliver a sweeping victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

He highlighted that this potential triumph has been underpinned by the harmonious manner in which South-south governors executed the APC's recent congresses in their respective states.

Otuaro acknowledged the effective actions of governors Oborevwori (Delta), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Bassey Otu (Cross River), and Monday Okpebholo (Edo) in successfully electing new ward executives and State Working Committees (SWCs) within their states.

Additionally, he congratulated the newly elected chairmen of the APC across Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Edo, as well as other members of the newly formed SWCs in the geopolitical zone.

He commended the governors for their exemplary leadership, while also praising delegates for their disciplined and resolute participation ensuring a transparent and inclusive transition process that produced satisfying outcomes for all stakeholders in the APC.

Furthermore, Otuaro lauded the consensus-driven affirmation process undertaken by the APC, emphasizing its alignment with the party's constitution and procedural rules.
