A video has surfaced showing a physical altercation between a woman and a massage therapist. The incident occurred in Wadala, Mumbai, India, when a 46-year-old woman filed a police report accusing a masseuse, hired through an app-based service, of assaulting her after she cancelled a scheduled booking. The Wadala police have initiated a case and are investigating the matter, while a video of the fight has gained significant traction online.

The woman who lodged the complaint, Shahnaz Sayyed, stated that she had booked a massage to address a persistent frozen shoulder condition. The therapist, Ashvini Vartapi, arrived at her residence as planned. However, Sayyed reported feeling uncomfortable due to the therapist's demeanor and the dimensions of the massage bed brought for the session.

According to the police, Sayyed informed them that she felt uneasy with the therapist and the equipment. After deciding to cancel the service and request a refund, Sayyed alleged that the therapist reacted with anger. The complaint further states that the therapist subjected Sayyed to verbal abuse before initiating a physical assault within her home.

The altercation escalated as the therapist allegedly pulled Sayyed's hair, struck her in the face, inflicted scratches, and pushed her to the floor. Sayyed's son, who attempted to intervene, was also reportedly pushed. Sayyed managed to contact the police helpline during the assault. Officers arrived at the scene after the accused therapist had already departed.

Following the incident, the complainant proceeded to the local police station to file her report. The police have registered a non-cognisable offense against the therapist. Preliminary findings also indicated a technical issue with the therapist's profile on the booking application, which has since been rectified by the authorities.

The Wadala police are continuing their investigation into the alleged assault. The incident has drawn considerable public attention, amplified by the circulation of the video capturing the confrontation across social media platforms.
