President Tinubu Lands in London for Significant Two-Day State Visit to the UK

President Bola Tinubu, accompanied by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has reached London, United Kingdom, in preparation for a significant two-day state visit.

According to presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the President's aircraft landed at London Stansted Airport at approximately 3:18 pm on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, President Tinubu was welcomed by Mark Bevan, Deputy Lieutenant of Essex, representing the Royal Family. He was also greeted by Nigeria’s acting High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Mohammed Maidugu, and other high-ranking officials.

A delegation of Nigerian political figures, including senators, governors, and ministers, were also present to greet the President.

During their stay, President Tinubu and the First Lady will be hosted by His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle. The engagement is scheduled to take place from March 18 to March 19.

The primary objective of this state visit is to reinforce the existing bilateral ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. It also aims to identify and cultivate new avenues for trade and investment opportunities for both nations.

Official statements indicate that the visit will serve as a crucial platform for enhancing diplomatic engagement and fostering collaboration across various sectors of mutual importance.
