President Bola Tinubu has ordered the relocation of all service chiefs to Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, in light of a recent increase in terrorist incidents in the region.

This directive was issued in a statement personally signed by the President and shared with journalists on Tuesday, March 17. The announcement came just hours after multiple suicide bombings in Borno, which claimed the lives of at least 23 individuals.

In his statement, President Tinubu expressed his condolences to the residents of Borno State over the devastating attacks and reassured them of the military's ongoing success in combating insurgents.

He also mentioned that during a recent security meeting with top officials of the security and intelligence sectors, he had approved the provision of additional equipment and operational resources to bolster their efforts.

He confirmed that these initiatives are already being implemented.

"Additionally, I have directed security chiefs to move to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation. I have also instructed emergency agencies to ensure that adequate care is provided for the injured," the President stated.
