Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are becoming more embroiled in the unfolding controversy surrounding their father, Prince Andrew, after the emergence of an email regarding possible payments to the sisters.
The email, which was reportedly acquired by the Mail on Sunday, revealed that Andrew advocated for his daughters to receive £100,000 in funds from a billionaire he was purportedly assisting during his tenure as a UK trade envoy. The email suggests that in June 2011, Andrew discussed this arrangement with Jonathan Rowland, the son of financier David Rowland.
According to the email, each sister was to be allocated £50,000. Furthermore, reports indicate that Andrew himself was anticipated to secure a total of £300,000 from David Rowland, although it remains uncertain if these payments were ever realized.
The disclosure has prompted several members of parliament to seek clarification regarding the legitimacy of these financial transactions. This scrutiny coincides with ongoing investigations into Andrew’s former associations with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
In a separate development, Anti-Slavery International confirmed that it has ended its relationship with Princess Eugenie. This organization, recognized as the oldest human rights group globally, had previously appointed Eugenie as a patron and acknowledged her efforts in supporting anti-modern slavery campaigns.
In their statement, they noted, “After seven years, our patronage from HRH Princess Eugenie of York has come to an end. We greatly appreciate the support she has provided to Anti-Slavery International, and we hope she will continue her crucial work to eradicate slavery and promote freedom for all.”
It should be noted that there are no allegations of misconduct directed at Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, or their mother, Sarah Ferguson, concerning the claims related to Epstein.
