A 67-year-old retired teacher, Abel Oyedokun Atilola, has been killed by unknown attackers in Oyo State.
Atilola, who had recently retired, was ambushed and reportedly murdered, with signs of dismemberment, near his agricultural land along Irawo in the ATISBO local government area on Monday, February 23, 2026.
According to reports, Atilola was on his way to his farm when the assailants struck.
It was also revealed that the perpetrators stole his mobile phone and motorcycle.
The spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation into the murder is underway.
