The Police Command in Rivers State has declared its intention to initiate a statewide operation targeting vehicles lacking valid registration and number plates.

Furthermore, vehicles equipped with revolving or flashing lights without proper authorization will be seized during the operation.

"This enforcement exercise is focused on enhancing public safety and bolstering crime prevention strategies throughout the state," she explained.

She also warned that vehicles without appropriate identification present significant security risks and are frequently associated with criminal activities.

Ms. Iringe-Koko cautioned against unauthorized use of revolving or flashing lights by private individuals, threatening that offenders will have their vehicles confiscated and may face legal prosecution.

Additionally, she advised against the use of tinted glasses in commercial vehicles, as such vehicles have increasingly been favored by armed robbers and kidnapping gangs.

"Members of the public should exercise caution when boarding vehicles featuring tinted windows," she urged.

Motorists have been encouraged to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and display visible registration numbers.

Ms. Iringe-Koko emphasized that all drivers must carry relevant vehicle documents while operating their vehicles.

The command has also made emergency contact numbers available for residents to report any suspicious activities.

She quoted the Commissioner of Police in Rivers, Olugbenga Adepoju, as promising that the enforcement initiative would be executed with professionalism and impartiality.

"The operation will be carried out professionally, fairly, and without bias," she assured.

Moreover, she implored the public to work together with the police for enhanced public safety, reaffirming the command's commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the region.
