Troops operating under the banner of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully handed over six individuals believed to be linked with Boko Haram activities to the Joint Investigation Centre (JIC) located in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. This transfer is intended to facilitate more in-depth investigations into their alleged roles in terrorism.
The handover occurred on April 13, with troops from the 232 Battalion (Task Force) making the transfer after initial inquiries were conducted regarding the suspects' potential involvement in terrorist operations.
The six individuals have been identified as Alhaji Saleh Manman Ibrahim, aged 44; Ado John, aged 27; Umaru Yunusa, aged 22; Musa Yauba, aged 43; Muhammad Salisu, aged 44; and Babangida Isah Muhammad, aged 28.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the move to transfer the suspects to the JIC is a crucial part of the ongoing strategy to thoroughly investigate, profile, and ascertain any connections they might have with the insurgent networks that continue to operate in the northeastern region of Nigeria.
