South African authorities have taken a female suspect into custody related to the shocking murder of a 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver, Isaac Satlat, in Pretoria West.

Satlat, who was also a student, met his tragic end on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, during a violent hijacking that was captured on dashcam footage.

According to Gauteng Police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo, initial findings suggest that the victim was attacked and killed by a man and a woman who had called an e-hailing service in the Pretoria West area.

"The driver’s hijacked vehicle and his remains were later found in Atteridgeville on the same day," Masondo reported.

The female suspect is set to be presented in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 16, 2026, facing charges related to car hijacking and murder.

Masondo also noted that investigations continue, hinting that more suspects might be arrested soon.

An alarming video circulating on social media depicts the victim being assaulted while at the wheel. In the footage, the female suspect is seen sitting in the front passenger seat, with a man behind her who launched the attack on the driver.

Once the driver became incapacitated, he was moved to the back seat, and a third man appeared to take control of the vehicle.

Earlier, police expressed their disapproval regarding the spread of the footage.

"The police strongly condemn the sharing of this video that shows a horrific murder of the victim,” Masondo stated.

Authorities have also called on users of social media to refrain from disseminating, sharing, or reposting the video.

Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Gauteng, has designated a senior investigator to thoroughly explore the circumstances surrounding this case and ensure that all involved parties are apprehended and face legal consequences.
