Stanley Nwabali has bid farewell to Chippa United, concluding a four-year spell with the South African team.

The club confirmed the exit of the Super Eagles goalkeeper through an official statement on Thursday. The 29-year-old had expressed a desire to leave, even after exercising a three-year contract extension in 2024.

Chippa United acknowledged Nwabali's request and consented to his release, wishing him success in his forthcoming career endeavors.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Stanley Nwabali for his dedicated service, commitment, and professionalism throughout his time at Chippa United Football Club. His contributions to the team will always be valued," the statement stated.

The club did not specify if Nwabali has arranged another transfer or if he will be entering free agency.

At this time, Nwabali has not made any public statements regarding his next move, though he has been linked with potential opportunities within the South African Premier Soccer League, as well as interest from clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia.

The goalkeeper originally joined Chippa United from Katsina United in Nigeria's Premier Football League back in 2022. He racked up over 70 appearances for Chippa United and was appointed team captain in 2024.

During his tenure with Chippa United, Nwabali gained significant recognition on the international front, solidifying his role as the first-choice goalkeeper for the Super Eagles following commendable displays at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Côte d'Ivoire.
