Reports indicate that Abubakar and his gun-wielding accomplices invaded the premises in Imasabor around 6:00 AM. Eyewitnesses claimed that upon their arrival, the gang discharged gunfire sporadically to intimidate the inhabitants as they attempted to force open an iron door. However, vigilant residents quickly notified security personnel, who responded promptly to the emergency.

Upon seeing the police, the kidnappers scattered into the nearby bush. Although many members of the group managed to escape, Abubakar was captured during a thorough search operation by the law enforcement officers.

The command's spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect has been transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Unit for ongoing inquiries and legal action.

Furthermore, she noted that the state's Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has instructed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and tactical heads to maintain a heightened state of alert to tackle the rising incidence of crime.
