Beloved actress Tabitha Brown brought a radiant splash of colour to the 57th NAACP Image Awards ceremony held in Pasadena, looking every bit the star she is. Nominated for her role in "Unexpected Christmas," Brown made a notable fashion statement by selecting a distinctive piece from acclaimed Nigerian designer, Desirée Iyama.
Accompanied by her husband, Chance Brown, Tabitha Brown captivated attendees in a vivid orange, strapless ball gown that commanded attention. The creation from Iyama’s Lagos-based studio showcased exceptional craftsmanship, particularly in its bodice, which featured an artful arrangement of three- dimensional fabric loops resembling delicate petals. This sculptural detail offered a modern yet romantic aesthetic, complemented by thin spaghetti straps that formed a halter neck.
The gown’s skirt was equally impressive in its structured silhouette. Fashioned from a lustrous fabric akin to taffeta, it held its form elegantly, reaching a chic midi-length just above the ankle. The gathered ruching detail towards the hemline added textural depth, highlighting the designer's sophisticated approach to construction.
Brown complemented the striking orange gown with dazzling blue embellished heeled mules, a bold colour choice that created a sophisticated and eye- catching contrast. Her accessories included long silver chandelier earrings, several gold bangles, and an assortment of rings, adding polished sparkle to her ensemble. Her hair was styled in a neat braided updo, with delicate tendrils framing her face and adorned with subtle gold accents.
The evening also celebrated notable achievements within the community, with Wunmi Mosaku securing an award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her powerful performance in "Sinners," adding another proud moment for Nigerian talent.
