Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has strongly criticised the current administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asserting that it has intensified hardship, insecurity, poverty, and hunger throughout the nation.
Tambuwal voiced these concerns during his address to delegates at the Sokoto state congress of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He stated, “I believe Nigerians have seen for themselves what Bola Ahmed Tinubu can deliver, if at all anything has been delivered. This administration has only brought more insecurity, poverty, and hunger.”
The senator further alleged that public funds are being mismanaged and diverted, suggesting these resources could be used to influence voters in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
He described the worsening economic conditions as a direct cause of increased unemployment and deepened hardship, indicating a failure to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
Tambuwal also directed criticism towards the Sokoto State Government, claiming it has not lived up to the people's expectations, although he did not specify particular failures.
He urged members of the ADC to maintain unity and boost their efforts in mobilising support at the grassroots level across the state.
“As you can see, by the grace of God, we will continue to mobilise for increased membership in unity and cohesion,” he remarked.
Tambuwal encouraged supporters to remain steadfast, declaring, “We are standing firm — no shaking, no surrender, no retreat,” and cautioned against any actions that might suppress opposition voices.
He added that the party would focus on strengthening its local structures in preparation for upcoming elections.
In related developments from the ADC congress, Abdullahi Maigwandu, Bello Isiyaku Keagan, and Kabiru S. Fulani were elected as the new chairman, deputy chairman, and secretary of the party in the state, respectively.
The newly constituted state executive committee also includes Kabiru Hali as Vice Chairman (Central), Abdullahi Bafarawa representing Sokoto East, and Sadiq Sayyina for Sokoto South, among other positions.
