A teacher has offered a rebuttal after the husband of a woman accused him of sending her 'romantic' messages. The teacher, identified as Anjov Emmanuel from Makurdi, was publicly confronted by Labe Clement, who identified himself as the husband of the woman, Mercy Demande.
Clement had shared screenshots of conversations allegedly between Emmanuel and his wife, portraying Emmanuel's messages as affectionate and describing Demande as "sweet." The wife's responses in the shared chats appeared brief and polite.
In his statement, Emmanuel addressed the accusation, stating that he felt compelled to respond despite initially not wanting to. He advised Clement against rushing to judgment, suggesting that such haste could reveal personal shortcomings and expose his wife to embarrassment.
Emmanuel clarified that his understanding was that Mercy Demande was not married. He further suggested that if Clement had approached the situation more cautiously, he might have avoided making a public display that he felt exposed his "emptiness" and brought "ridicule" to his wife. Emmanuel also asserted that the post made by Clement did not accurately reflect the situation as he perceived it.
