A notable new face is joining the esteemed cast of 'Bridgerton' for its fifth season, with actor Tega Alexander officially confirmed by Netflix.
Alexander, a British-Nigerian talent, will take on the role of Christopher Anderson. The character is described as a Regency-era charmer, anticipated to captivate audiences and stir up social circles within the show's fictional society, known as the Ton.
In the 'Bridgerton' narrative, Christopher Anderson is positioned as the son of Lord Marcus Anderson, portrayed by Daniel Francis, and the nephew of the influential Lady Danbury, played by Adjoa Andoh. This familial connection places him near key characters and influential households.
While Christopher Anderson is expected to project an image of confidence and charm, the series has suggested that internal struggles, including self-doubt, will form a significant part of his character arc.
Alexander himself marked his new role with a fitting announcement on social media, sharing, "I guess I’ll see you around the Ton."
The actor, who has a growing international profile, hails from Nigeria and is based in the United Kingdom. He initially gained prominence through online content focused on dance and movement, where his dynamic presence and distinct visual style attracted a large following.
His casting in 'Bridgerton' represents a significant advancement in his acting career, building on recent ventures into television and live event hosting.
Alexander's previous acting credits include a role in Guy Ritchie's crime drama 'MobLand,' as well as appearances in the thriller series 'Red Eye' and the fantasy drama 'The Sandman.' Joining 'Bridgerton' places him within a widely recognised global television franchise.
Beyond his screen work, Alexander has also established a presence in the fashion world, collaborating with brands such as Hugo Boss, Montblanc, and Apple. He has recently been seen hosting red carpet events for major film premieres, including those for 'Joker: Folie à Deux' and 'Furiosa.'
'Bridgerton' Season 5 is set to focus on the story of Francesca Bridgerton. Alexander will be joined by other new cast members, including Jacqueline Boatswain as Helen Stirling and Gemma Knight Jones as Lady Elizabeth Ashworth.
