The Bloom Conversations with Sola, an initiative designed as a safe space for professional women, has conducted its third exclusive meeting in Lekki, Lagos. This invitation-only event convened 40 professional women from various corporate industries for a day focused on enhancing personal and professional growth.
Established in 2023 by Oluwasola Obagbemi, the initiative aims to offer support to women navigating the complexities of integrating work and life. Through fostering a community based on shared experiences, the platform provides practical advice to assist participants in succeeding in a demanding professional environment.
This year's event featured a distinguished group of female executives who shared successful strategies. Mojisola Hunponu-Wosu, Founder and President of Woodhall Capital, delivered a powerful presentation on wealth creation for corporate women, emphasizing the need for women to shift their thinking from solely focusing on income to embracing ownership.
"For too long, the corporate narrative for women has been centered on climbing the ladder for a better paycheck. To build a lasting legacy, women must move beyond the safety of a salary and embrace the mindset of an owner," Hunponu- Wosu stated. "It is about transitioning from being a participant in the economy to becoming a stakeholder. That is why gatherings like Bloom Conversations are key to learning about holistic stability, true wealth, and long-term independence."
Moroti Adedoyin-Adeyinka, Executive Director of Financial Strategy at Sahara Group, praised the initiative and offered a strategic guide for navigating challenging corporate landscapes. Her session highlighted the interplay between diligent work and character development.
"Conversations like these are of the utmost importance for young corporate women because success in a complex world isn’t just about navigating the room; it’s about the substance you bring into it," Adedoyin-Adeyinka commented. "Hard and smart work is crucial, but character is the compass. For corporate women to break through barriers, there must be as much intentionality about our integrity as there is about our technical delivery."
The Convener, Oluwasola Obagbemi, commenced the event by detailing the initiative's long-term objectives.
"The Bloom Conversations is creating a pipeline of women who are not only technically proficient but also emotionally and socially equipped to handle the pressures of the corporate world without losing their sense of self. Women are not made to be just one thing; women are made for more."
This year's session built upon the achievements of previous events, which included prominent speakers such as Folake Soetan (CEO, Ikeja Electric) and Adenike Macaulay (CEO, Wakanow) for the 2.0 edition, as well as Audrey Joe- Ezigbo, Folake Sanu, and Nkiru Olumide-Ojo for the initial gathering.
The success of the event was bolstered by partners committed to advancing women, including BellaNaija, Providus Bank, Ego Foundation, Ify’s Kitchen, Dang, Johnvents Foods, Viva, Hair Harmony, Cakes by Debbie, Shea Tribe, Nvrbsc, and Dios Dlite. These collaborations underscore a growing industry recognition that supporting female talent is not only beneficial but essential for national economic progress.
As International Women's Month 2026 concludes, The Bloom Conversations continues its mission to cultivate an environment where women can thrive, share their experiences, and lead with confidence.
