Three young men have been reported killed during a recent attack that occurred in Pwomol village, situated within the Heipang District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The Berom Youth Moulders Association has confirmed that the tragic incident took place on Sunday night, April 5, 2026.
Rwang Tengwong, who serves as the spokesperson for BYM, stated that the victims were vigilante youths engaged in guarding the village at the time of the assault. He added that another person was injured in the incident and is presently undergoing treatment.
Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, the National President of BYM, has strongly condemned the attack. He urged security agencies to carry out a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the matter.
The BYM acknowledged the prompt response from the Special Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, and encouraged residents in the affected area to remain alert and to report any suspicious activities to the relevant security bodies.
"The Berom Youth Moulders-Association is steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding lives and seeking justice for victims of violent assaults throughout Berom land and beyond," the group declared in a statement.
