Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson hosted the premiere of his latest feature film, 'Love and New Notes,' on Sunday at the Filmhouse IMAX cinema located in Lekki, Lagos. The event was a gathering of notable figures from the entertainment industry, including actors, musicians, media personalities, and film fans.
High-profile attendees included music mogul Don Jazzy, actress Funke Akindele, actor Lateef Adedimeji, and singer Lil Kesh, all of whom came out to lend their support to the film and its cast.
Cast members and production team also graced the occasion, featuring names like Eniola Badmus, Odunlade Adekola, Akinyoola Ayoola (also known as Kamo State), Sophie Alakija, Toluwani George, Constance Owoiyomi, Iyiola Elvis, The Don, and Tolu Babs Omish.
The event doubled as a celebration for Ms. Alakija's birthday, which took many by surprise during the festivities.
A focus of the evening was the film itself; 'Love and New Notes' was produced by Muyiwa Idowu and co-produced by FilmOne Studios, distributed by FilmOne Entertainment and FilmTribe Media, with Kayode Kasum directing. The storyline revolves around themes of love, choice, and consequence, delving into how personal decisions impact relationships and the course of life.
After the screening, Timini Egbuson expressed his contentment with the audience's reaction, which mirrored the positive intentions behind the film. “Witnessing the audience laugh and connect with the narrative reassures us of our mission to convey such stories,” he noted.
Director Kayode Kasum highlighted the project as a truly collaborative endeavor focused on emotional authenticity. He stated, “Our goal was to narrate a tale that captures the intersections of love, growth, and decision- making in reality. Experiencing our first audience's reaction to this journey was remarkable for the entire team.”
The premiere was not only a film screening but also a vibrant display of modern Nigerian pop culture, with guests showcasing outfits reflecting the movie’s '80s-themed love and crime motif. 'Love and New Notes' made its nationwide cinema release on Saturday, strategically timed to appeal to Valentine’s Day audiences.
