A tragic accident occurred on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, claiming the life of Mohammad Moin, an 18-year-old student, while he was creating social media content with friends. The incident happened near Ferozpur Jhirka in Haryana's Nuh region.
Moin, a resident of Shahpur Nangli village and a Class XII student, was filming when he was hit from behind by a speeding truck. His friends, Mohammad Shaad and another companion who filmed the incident, suffered serious injuries and are currently receiving medical attention.
The trio had accessed the heavily-trafficked expressway, which is typically forbidden for pedestrians, to shoot content intended for social media platforms.
Disturbing footage captured on the smartphone used for filming shows Moin and Shaad animatedly posing with energy drinks, completely unaware of the impending danger as they were distracted by the recording.
The truck, which was reported to be trying to overtake another vehicle, veered onto the shoulder at high speed before colliding with the teenagers. Witnesses described the impact as horrific, propelling the boys several feet into the air.
Good Samaritans on the scene rushed the injured to a nearby hospital in Mandi Khera, where Moin was pronounced dead by medical staff. His friends remain in critical but stable condition.
Subhash Chand, the Station House Officer of Sadar Ferozpur Jhirka, reported that the driver of the truck fled immediately following the collision. Authorities have initiated an investigation to locate the vehicle and its driver.
The event serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of filming content in hazardous locations, highlighting safety concerns that need addressing in the digital content creation space.
