President Donald Trump has stated that the newly unsealed Jeffrey Epstein files clear him of any possible misconduct, claiming they reveal the "opposite of what many anticipated," even as the documents contain allegations linked to a sexual act involving a minor.
This past weekend, the Department of Justice unveiled more than three million pages of materials associated with the Epstein case, comprising 2,000 videos and approximately 180,000 images.
Included in the released material are photographs of filmmaker Brett Ratner, known for working on a documentary about First Lady Melania Trump, reportedly seen with a young woman alongside Epstein.
In response to the release of these documents, Trump commented, "I haven’t seen it myself, but important people have told me that not only does it exonerate me, it goes against what the radical left was hoping for."
He has continually denied any involvement concerning Epstein and noted that none of Epstein's victims have leveled accusations against him.
Moreover, Trump indicated that he might pursue legal action against Epstein's estate as well as his former ally-turned-adversary, Michael Wolff, for allegedly attempting to sabotage his political standing through emails referenced in the released documents.
While aboard Air Force One, Trump accused Wolff, whom he referred to as a "third-rate writer," of conspiring with Epstein to undermine his political integrity, a notion he stated was clearly conveyed in the documents.
"It is likely we will take legal action against Wolff… possibly against the Epstein estate as well. But we will certainly pursue Wolff," he said.
One image from the released files features Brett Ratner, 56, known for the "Rush Hour" series, seated on a couch with Epstein and two women whose identities were concealed.
The files do not provide any evidence of wrongdoing against Trump.
