U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that Iran permitted the passage of multiple oil tankers through the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz, which he characterized as a goodwill gesture while negotiations are underway.

During a Cabinet meeting held at the White House, Trump detailed that this development was what he previously described as a "present" from Iran.

“They said, to show you that we’re real and solid, we’re going to let you have eight boats of oil—eight big boats,” Trump explained. “It ended up being 10 boats.”

He noted that the ships were reportedly flagged from Pakistan, although no additional official information has been released by the White House at this time.

These comments by Trump emerge amid his efforts to encourage Iran to reach an agreement that would diminish tensions in this vital maritime passage and address issues surrounding its nuclear ambitions.

Earlier that week, Trump had fueled speculation by mentioning that Iran had provided a significant energy-related concession to the United States, without elaborating on the details during his earlier remarks.

“They gave us a present, and it arrived today—it was very big, worth a tremendous amount of money,” he had stated, hinting at the significance of the concession.
