United States President Donald Trump stated on Monday, March 9, that he would collaborate with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to determine the appropriate time to conclude the ongoing military campaign targeting Iran. He emphasized that this decision would be made collaboratively between the two nations.
"I think it's mutual… a little bit," Trump remarked to The Times of Israel in a phone conversation, indicating that he and Prime Minister Netanyahu have been in communication. The President added, "I’ll make a decision at the right time, but everything’s going to be taken into account."
Previously, Trump had suggested that the military conflict with Iran might extend for approximately four weeks. However, other officials within his administration had been hesitant to provide a definitive timeline for the operation's duration.
Responding to a question about the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran's next Ayatollah, potentially succeeding his late father, Trump expressed that "we'll see what happens." He had previously characterized the younger Khamenei as a "lightweight" and found his potential ascension "unacceptable."
