The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has reached its 30th day, resulting in a rising toll of casualties.

Iran has repeatedly dismissed President Donald Trump's assertions regarding negotiations for a ceasefire, firmly stating its intent to continue its military efforts.

Thousands have died, and even more individuals have faced injury or displacement across various regions, including Iran, Lebanon, and Israel.

The economic ramifications of the conflict have escalated, driven by bombings that targeted significant gas facilities in four Middle Eastern nations.

This marks the introduction of a fourth week of warfare, and key developments from the 29th day have been highlighted in various reports.

US/Israel Launch Attacks on Iranian Academic Institutions

In a recent military operation, US-Israeli forces attacked Iran’s University of Science and Technology located in northeastern Tehran early on Saturday, with no casualties reported.

Following these actions, tertiary institutions in Israel and surrounding Gulf states are now at an increased risk of potential assaults.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued threats to retaliate by targeting universities believed to be associated with the US or Israel throughout the region.

Educators and students at these universities were urged to vacate the premises, as the IRGC advised, "Stay at least one kilometer away from the campuses."

Demonstrations Erupt in Israel Against Ongoing War

On Saturday, hundreds took to the streets of Tel Aviv to express their dissent against the US-Israeli military actions.

This demonstration follows a series of smaller protests that have taken place weekly since the war began, not only in Tel Aviv but also in other cities like Haifa.

However, Saturday's protest brought a larger turnout, with security forces attempting to disperse the crowds. Reports indicated that approximately 21 activists were apprehended by police during these demonstrations.

Fatal Strikes in Lebanon: Three Journalists Killed

The Israeli military offensive in Lebanon resulted in the deaths of three journalists on Saturday.

These journalists were reportedly killed in a targeted assault in southern Lebanon, according to coverage from BBC. Among the slain was Ali Shoeib, a correspondent for Hezbollah-affiliated Al Manar TV. Two others, Fatima Ftouni and her brother, cameraman Mohamed Ftouni of Al Mayadeen, were also among the deceased.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Mr. Shoeib's death, labeling him an Iranian-supported terrorist. The IDF, however, did not substantiate its claims with evidence.

Large US Marine Contingent Arrives in Middle East

Additionally, a US Navy vessel carrying 3,500 Marines was reported to have reached the Middle East on Saturday.

CENTCOM verified the ship's deployment on social media, identifying it as the USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault vessel previously stationed in Taiwan.

"Sailors and Marines aboard the USS Tripoli (LHA 7) have arrived within the US Central Command area of operations as of March 27," stated CENTCOM.

Iran Condemns Alleged US Ground Strike Plans

Iran's parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, condemned the US for supposedly plotting ground offensive operations while engaging in diplomatic discussions.

Ghalibaf's remarks have emerged subsequent to the arrival of the US Navy ship and Marines. Al Jazeera reported that Mr. Trump portrayed himself as open to negotiations while discreetly planning an assault.

He commented, "The adversary openly expresses intentions of negotiation while covertly organizing a ground strike," suggesting that Iranian troops are prepared to respond decisively to any US military presence on their soil.

Houthis Join Conflict, Target Israel with Strikes

The Houthi rebels from Yemen have officially joined the conflict, launching missile attacks against Israel on Friday.

The Houthis stated that these actions were retribution for the ongoing assaults on Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine, pledging to persist in their attacks until US and Israeli operations cease.

Their spokesperson, Yahya Saree, asserted that their measures will continue until the declared objectives are met and aggression is halted across all theaters of resistance.

Qatar Formalizes Defense Arrangement with Ukraine

In the midst of these hostilities, Qatar has entered a defense agreement with Ukraine, a nation embroiled in conflict with Russia for three years.

The decade-long pact focuses on collaborative strategies to address missile and drone threats and fosters technological partnerships and investment initiatives.

Qatar’s defense ministry indicated that Ukraine would leverage its experience in neutralizing Russian missile and drone threats to assist Gulf states, having dispatched anti-drone specialists to Qatar as well as Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

US Protesters Voice Opposition to War

In the US, protesters converged on various locations on Saturday to oppose the actions taken by the Trump administration.

Minneapolis emerged as a focal point, with thousands marching and displaying "No King" banners indicative of their rejection of what they perceive as authoritarian governance.

Demonstrators were advocating against the US's military engagement in Iran, among additional issues. Recent polling indicates a majority of Americans oppose the conflict, which has seen at least 13 American soldiers lose their lives and many others injured.

Iran and the US Speak Out Against Kurdistan Drone Attack

Both Iran and the US have criticized a drone strike on the residence of Nechirvan Barzani, President of Iraq's Kurdistan Region, which took place on Saturday.

The two nations have exchanged accusations over the drone strike, which targeted the president’s residence in Iraq's semi-autonomous northern Kurdish area.

The US denounced the assault, attributing it to a militia with ties to Iran. The State Department characterized the incident as a distinct violation of Iraq's sovereignty and a cowardly terrorist act attributed to Iran and its associates.

In contrast, the IRGC has denounced the drone attack as an act of terrorism orchestrated by the US and Israel, labeling it a shameful terrorist assault. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has called for an investigation into the incident.
