Posters advertising Melania Trump’s upcoming documentary have faced significant vandalism across various locations in Los Angeles, leading to worries from the city’s transit authority.
The local public transit agency has noted a considerable increase in the defacement of buses and bus stops featuring the First Lady's promotional images. Many of these posters have been altered with obscenities, mustaches emulating Adolf Hitler’s, along with taunts referencing Hitler’s spouse, Eva Braun.
Due to the extent of the damage, officials have begun to take corrective measures. The transit agency announced it has started relocating buses that display Melania advertisements to different regions in an attempt to curtail further vandalism. Even though some of the damaged bus stops are not under the transit authority's jurisdiction, the situation has escalated to a point where intervention seemed necessary.
Reports indicate that at least one billboard has also been subjected to defacement within the city, with the activist art collective INDECLINE stating it has claimed responsibility for the vandalism of one such billboard.
Last year, Melania Trump revealed the formation of her production firm, with this documentary, titled ‘Melania’, being its inaugural project. Directed by Brett Ratner, the film is scheduled to be released tomorrow and promises a unique behind-the-scenes perspective of Melania Trump's life leading up to the 2025 presidential inauguration.
It has been reported that Amazon MGM Studios invested $40 million for the production of the documentary.
