A popular disc jockey identified as DJ Orlando is undergoing treatment in a medical facility following an alleged attack during a wedding in Otukpo, Benue State, which arose from a dispute regarding additional payment.
Reports indicate that the incident took place when DJ Orlando declined to perform at an after-wedding event, asserting that his initial agreement with the couple included only the main ceremony.
Attempts to amend the terms allegedly escalated into physical violence.
Sources claim that relatives of the bride brutally assaulted the DJ using broken bottles and other hazardous objects, resulting in severe injuries to his head.
In a bid to seek refuge, he reportedly ran into the room of the bride’s father, but he was forcibly removed and left susceptible to subsequent attacks.
He was eventually rescued and transported to a hospital for medical attention.
According to a local news outlet, Benue Info Pedia, the newlyweds, including the groom who is said to be from Cross River State, reportedly fled Otukpo shortly after the assault to evade inquiries.
