Wendy Williams' Father Passes Away at Age 94

Wendy Williams’ father, Thomas D. Williams, has passed away at the age of 94.

The announcement of his death was made on Instagram by Alex Finnie, Wendy’s niece and goddaughter, on Sunday, February 8. She shared a touching video montage that showcased moments they shared together.

Finnie expressed her sorrow, stating, "I’ll be loving you always. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share — after 94 years of extraordinary love, strength, brilliance, and wisdom, my grandfather Thomas D. Williams has passed. I know he is in heaven with Nana, watching over our family and continuing to guide us as he always has."

She further remembered her grandfather as a man of remarkable intellect, saying, "My grandfather was truly a man of great intellect — an author, educator and keeper of historical facts. Papa poured into both family and community. I miss him tremendously. I’m a little lost for words right now, but I love you endlessly Papa. Give Nana a kiss for me."

In response to the announcement, many followers shared their condolences online. One comment read, "Awww I’m so sorry to you Alex and your family. Tom was such a sweet and dapper man with a special sparkle in his eyes. May he rest in peace." Another added, "My condolences. Wendy will miss her dad dearly. Rest in Peace Mr. Williams."

Wendy, who is 61 years old, was last seen with her father in February 2025, when they celebrated his birthday in Miami.
