A woman has been cast out from the Umekpu village in Ogbaku, part of the Mbaitoli Local Government Area in Imo State, following severe allegations of selling her sister-in-law's son for 800,000 Naira.

The village governance quickly responded after the case came to their attention, formally declaring her a non-member of their community.

Recent footage shows the woman being led away from the village by a crowd of villagers, who were singing mocking songs and deriding her.

During the video, one of the village leaders articulated the rationale behind the expulsion, stating, "We are expelling her from Umekpu Village, Ogbaku, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State."

He added, "She sold her sister-in-law’s son, that is the son of her brother’s wife, for N800,000, and because of this, we have no option but to banish her."
