Woman Killed by Train at Bukuru Station in Jos

A metro train is reported to have fatally struck a woman named Salamatu Ahmad at the Bukuru Terminal Station located in Jos, Plateau State.

The unfortunate incident transpired on Friday morning, February 6, 2026, in a busy area of the terminal.

Witnesses indicate that the woman was attempting to board a moving train when the tragedy occurred.

As confirmed by the Bukuru TV Radio Station, the mishap took place either as the train was entering or leaving the station, during which Salamatu was trying to board.

An eyewitness, Nasiru Alhaji Baba Tsoro, stated, "The incident happened while the train was already in motion as the deceased attempted to enter it. She was hit by the train and died on the spot."

Security personnel and emergency responders reportedly arrived promptly at the scene following the incident.

Authorities then secured the area and initiated preliminary investigations to clarify the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
