Zenith Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Kennedy Okwudili as an executive director, with the new role set to commence on May 1.

The bank made this announcement in an official statement, which was signed by the company secretary, Michael Otu, and shared on the NGX Group platform on Monday.

In its statement, Zenith Bank highlighted that this appointment aligns with their established tradition of nurturing leadership from within the organization, which aims to strengthen the bank's executive management team further.

"The Board of Directors of Zenith Bank Plc is pleased to declare the appointment of Mr. Kennedy Onuwa Okwudili as an Executive Director, effective May 1, 2026. The appointment, consistent with the Bank’s tradition and succession strategy, will further enhance the Bank’s Executive Management," the statement detailed.

Profile

Mr. Okwudili holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Accounting from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria, which he completed in 1998, graduating with Second Class Upper Division. He further obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, in 2008, followed by a Master of Science in Accounting from Veritas University, Abuja, Nigeria, in 2021.

With over 25 years of extensive experience in banking, he has acquired skills in areas such as credit and marketing, treasury, compliance, and operations, working across different zones and departments within the bank.

Mr. Okwudili is recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), since 2013, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, as of 2024. He also holds an Associate membership with the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), which he received in 2016.

His professional development includes participation in various prestigious executive education programs internationally, including the Senior Leadership Development Programme at Lagos Business School, the Corporate Directorship Programme at Harvard Business School, and the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford, SAID Business School.

Currently, Mr. Okwudili serves as the President of the Catholic Bankers Association of Nigeria (CBAN) and is also a member of the Noble Order of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI).
