ZSUBEB Hosts Agriculture Quiz, Encourages Pupils to Pursue Farming

The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) has encouraged students throughout the state to engage with agricultural education as a crucial component of national development and food security.

This appeal was made during the state finals of the Agricultural Education Training Programme (AETP) quiz competition, which took place at the Government Girls Arabic Secondary School.

The event showcased students who had already secured victories at both the inter-school and zonal inter-Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) stages.

At the occasion, the Executive Chairman of ZSUBEB, Nasiru Garba Anka, commended the contestants for their excellent performances and acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders to the program.

According to him, the confidence and knowledge displayed by the students indicate a promising future for education in the state. He emphasized that this competition was more than just about winning prizes; it aimed to foster confidence, encourage healthy academic competition, and inspire excellence among young learners.

Anka also showed appreciation for teachers and school leaders for their commitment to nurturing the students.

Earlier, the Director of Academic Services at the board explained that the Agricultural Education Training Programme is designed to enhance agricultural knowledge, ignite interest in contemporary farming techniques, and help young learners understand the significance of agriculture in national progress.

Ultimately, Kaura Namoda Zone clinched first place in the primary school category, while Talata Mafara Zone and Anka Zone secured the second and third positions respectively. In the junior secondary school category, Gusau Zone was victorious, followed by Talata Mafara Zone and Kaura Namoda Zone in second and third place respectively.

The board congratulated all winners and urged every participant to stay dedicated to academic excellence, emphasizing that education serves as a vital tool for personal and societal growth.
