The Nasarawa State Government has categorically denied claims suggesting that Governor Abdullahi Sule had a clandestine meeting with Atiku Abubakar in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, during the recent lesser Hajj. It was alleged that during this unauthorized meeting, Governor Sule purportedly promised financial support for initiatives aimed at undermining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Addra, the government vehemently rejected the claims, labeling them as 'a complete fabrication' that lacks any truth.
Further clarifying the matter, the government insisted that Governor Sule did not engage in any encounters with Atiku or his associates during the holy pilgrimage.
The statement continued to illustrate that the governor frequently utilizes various platforms to commend President Tinubu's leadership qualities and express unwavering support for his administration.
Additionally, the government accused certain political figures of trying to create rifts between President Tinubu and Governor Sule, while expressing optimism that such machinations would ultimately be unsuccessful.
Moreover, Atiku’s representative, Paul Ibe, reportedly asserted that he was unaware of any such meeting taking place.
The Nasarawa State Government reaffirmed that the governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) firmly stand behind Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that no misleading reports would sway their loyalty to him.
