The police in Ekiti State have brought charges against 21-year-old Femi Mustapha at the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ado-Ekiti for the alleged theft of a loudspeaker and an amplifier.
During the court proceedings, Prosecutor Inspector Yomi Osuolale informed the court that the offense took place on January 1, 2026, around 3 AM, at Ejigbo Junction in Ado-Ekiti.
Mustapha is accused of stealing the two items, which have a total worth of N200,000, belonging to one Abayomi Zacheus.
Inspector Osuolale added that this offense violates Section 302 of the Laws of Ekiti State, Nigeria, 2021.
In defense, Barrister O.G. Abiola, representing Mustapha, requested that the court grant bail on lenient terms, assuring that his client would adhere to the bail conditions.
Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Taiwo Ajibade, granted bail to Mustapha, setting the amount at N100,000 with an equivalent surety.
The hearing for the case is scheduled for February 27.
