Friends and acquaintances are grieving the untimely loss of Moses Peace, a 26-year-old woman who tragically died in a hit-and-run incident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The accident took place on Ada George Road on March 19, 2026.
Witnesses claim that Moses was on her way back from a church event when she was struck by drivers allegedly part of a convoy.
It is reported that several vehicles in the convoy drove over her, and none of them stopped to assist or express concern.
She was declared dead at the scene of the incident.
The circumstances of her death have incited anger and sorrow among the public, leading to calls for an exhaustive investigation and accountability for those involved.
Friends are appealing to locals, witnesses, commuters, and business owners in the vicinity to come forward with any information that could help identify the convoy responsible.
"Moses Peace, a vibrant young woman, lost her life to negligent hit-and-run drivers in a convoy, and we cannot remain silent," stated her friend and lawyer, Gloria Borlo.
"A life full of potential was extinguished due to carelessness and a lack of regard for human life.
"No family should have to suffer such a tragedy. No community should accept such injustice. A life taken must not be forgotten; it must be accounted for.
"Those responsible ought to come forward to face the consequences of their actions. If not, it falls upon us, as a community united by the spirit of justice, to ensure they are held responsible.
"This message is directed not only to witnesses but to all who still believe in the values of right and wrong.
"We urgently request that residents, commuters, and business owners around Ada George, Omega Junction, and nearby areas step forward if they were present in that region between 7:30 PM and 7:50 PM on March 19, 2026, when the incident occurred. Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial in the search for justice.
"Early reports indicate that the vehicle involved may have been either a Toyota Tundra or a Toyota Highlander.
"However, we seek more concrete details such as the vehicle’s color, unique characteristics, or license plate number—anything that could assist in identifying the drivers.
"Moreover, we urge property owners and business operators between Omega Junction and Okilton Junction with operational CCTV systems to fulfill their civic obligation in helping with this case.
"Your footage could provide essential evidence. Your help could bridge the gap between sorrow and justice. Let this not be yet another incident that fades away unnoticed.
