To my brother Bobby Dee (Chief Dele Momodu),
I write to appeal to you, dear brother, to step away from the shadows of the opposition and embrace the path of enlightenment with us. Your insights are invaluable, yet they appear clouded at this moment.
It was disheartening to witness you make disparaging comments about President Tinubu on a recent episode of Channels TV with Seun Okinbaloye. Your portrayal of our President as a dictator reminiscent of General Sani Abacha is bewildering and disconcerting, indicating a troubling detachment from reality.
Your remarks not only lack propriety but also disrespect the expertise and dedication of our leaders, including the Vice President, Ministers, Senators, and newly appointed Ambassadors, all of whom boast greater experience in governance. Such comments also insult the intelligence of the Nigerian populace.
I hold you in high regard, Dele, and it pains me to see you seemingly exhausted and speaking less coherently in your recent interview. Perhaps a break from the political arena might allow you the time to rediscover your intellectual vigor.
I urge you to refocus your ambitions and invest your energy into strengthening your party, the ADC. Instead of fixating on our government’s moves, consider developing a solid opposition framework for the upcoming 2027 elections.
Your current party, the ADC, often appears more like a precariously patched inflatable raft, lacking vigor and direction, than a robust political entity. They face criticisms for not being a serious contender in our political landscape, and unless they significantly improve their stance, they cannot hope to navigate the tumultuous waters of Nigerian politics. To achieve credibility, further education, refined strategies, and a clear mission are essential.
It is disheartening to see leaders and citizens gravitating towards the APC, not only due to the effectiveness of our leaders but also because many perceive the ADC as a gathering of disorganized, unremarkable figures who lack the foresight to present credible solutions. The pursuit of power over genuine political purpose is palpable.
Watching you defend such a flawed agenda is disheartening, much like your predictions of impending regret for our President.
I implore you to adhere to higher guidance instead of being swayed by negative influences permeating our political discourse. Tinubu has laid a strong foundation, and by the grace of God, he will complete his tenure with success.
Holding on to despair and negativity appears to be the counsel of the misguided. I earnestly ask you, dear brother, to abandon the company of the disillusioned and align with a force for good.
You possess an authenticity that contradicts the chaotic affiliation of the ADC. Your current association is analogous to a majestic flamingo surrounded by a disruptive swarm of crows. Such companionship is beneath your dignified character.
In conclusion, I wish for a brighter future that is attainable through unity and purpose. Your talents deserve better than this affiliation.
Warm regards,
Femi Fani-Kayode
