The Accord Party has issued a call to political stakeholders, urging them to refrain from making statements that could incite unrest and heighten political tensions, especially in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.

Mr. Dele Oladeji, the Lagos State chairman of the party, made this appeal in response to the recent leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He encouraged politicians to practice self-control and prioritize national peace as political activities for the upcoming polls intensify.

Oladeji emphasized that unsubstantiated claims and heated exchanges risk destabilizing the democratic process. He suggested that parties facing grievances should utilize established legal channels for resolution.

"Following the recent leadership challenges within the ADC, with political figures making various, potentially inflammatory, and unverified accusations and claims," Oladeji stated, "logic dictates that any party feeling aggrieved should pursue legal recourse."

He further proposed the establishment of a high-level mediation and consulting team to work with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
