Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has shared her candid perspective on dating and personal boundaries during a recent conversation with her colleague, Ayo Adesanya.
Bakare expressed a clear stance on romantic involvements, stating that she does not permit a man she is dating to visit her home unless the relationship has progressed to the point of marriage.
"How will that work? You people are dating and the man will be coming to your house without marriage? It has never happened," she asserted during the interview.
She further elaborated on her emotional approach to partnerships, explaining that while she can appreciate, like, and respect an individual, she does not identify with being "in love."
"I do not love, I like. I appreciate. I respect," Bakare stated.
The actress also emphasized her belief that the man in a relationship should take the lead in providing the space for their interactions, preferring him to host rather than visiting her.
"In his house, he’s the man. You should be responsible. You should carry me to your house," she added.
Bakare clarified that this preference holds true even if the man's residence is a rented accommodation or a smaller space, indicating that such arrangements are preferable to him visiting her home without a commitment.
