The Osun State Government expressed its warm congratulations to Chief Abdulkareem Adebisi Akande, a former governor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as he celebrates his 87th birthday.

In a statement issued by the Governor, Akande was described as a remarkable figure not only for Osun State but for the whole of Nigeria.

Adeleke emphasized that Akande has lived on the commendable side of history, contributing immensely his effort, time, and resources towards the advancement of the nation.

The governor also highlighted Akande's notable achievement of building the Osun State Government Secretariat during his tenure from 1999 to 2003.

“Chief Bisi Akande is an established political figure and statesman. He has represented Nigeria with honor in numerous roles. His name is etched in history for helping to form a credible opposition with the creation of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), which evolved into the Action Congress (AC), then the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and now the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),” he remarked.

While wishing for Akande’s continued health and longevity, the governor acknowledged that he possesses a wealth of knowledge regarding public administration, political progress, and regional growth.

“Having served as the former Governor of Osun State, National leader of the APC, and Secretary to the Government of old Oyo State, Chief Akande’s influence on national development is invaluable.

“His leadership and foresight have made enduring contributions to both Osun State and Nigeria as a whole. We commend his unwavering dedication to public service and unwavering commitment to our nation's progress,” the governor concluded.
