Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest airline, has established a multi-year partnership with Travelport, a prominent global travel content firm, to enhance its global footprint and improve the accessibility of its offerings for travel agencies.
This collaboration allows Air Peace to distribute its full range of services across Central and West Africa and into vital international markets via Travelport’s innovative digital platform, Travelport+.
As a result, numerous travel agencies worldwide will gain access to Air Peace’s passenger and charter services, including routes to destinations such as the Middle East, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom.
Damian Hickey, Chief Commercial Officer of Travelport, expressed excitement over this expanded partnership, noting the significant role of Air Peace in the West and Central African aviation landscape. He stated, "We are thrilled to enhance our collaboration with Air Peace. This agreement not only strengthens our content offerings in important markets but also facilitates Air Peace in extending its global reach and delivering enhanced branded content to travel agencies worldwide."
Nowel Ngala, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Peace, also highlighted the importance of this deal, describing it as an essential milestone in the airline's strategy for growth and international expansion. Travelport’s extensive network and cutting-edge technology will assist us in growing our sales, improving customer experience, and bolstering our presence in key international markets."
The partnership reflects a broader trend among airlines in developing regions to leverage modern retail and distribution technologies. Such platforms not only enhance global visibility but also provide airlines with opportunities to present their products and brand effectively.
Air Peace currently operates a diverse fleet, including Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s, and Embraer aircraft, covering domestic, regional, and international routes. The enhanced collaboration with Travelport is anticipated to support the airline's ongoing growth and assist in establishing Nigeria as a central aviation hub on the African continent.
Travelport, with its headquarters in London and operations spanning over 180 countries, facilitates bookings for countless travel suppliers globally through its advanced marketplace, Travelport+. The platform revolutionizes how travel brands connect with consumers, enhances the selling process, and enables large-scale digital retailing.
Through this agreement, Travelport aims to reinforce its significant presence in Africa, catering to airlines seeking distribution solutions that marry extensive agency access with next-generation retailing capabilities.
