Air Peace has dismissed reports suggesting that its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, alongside Vice Chairman, Mrs. Alice Ojochide Onyema, are involved in a taxable lawsuit initiated by the Lagos State Government.
In a statement released on Monday, the airline emphasized that neither the Onyemas nor the organization has received any official court summons regarding the alleged lawsuit.
The airline expressed surprise at claims indicating that legal actions had been in process since February without any formal notifications being communicated.
Air Peace asserted that it has thoroughly fulfilled all corporate and personal tax obligations as mandated by law and continues to adhere to all relevant regulations.
Additionally, the airline conveyed its readiness to discuss any potential discrepancies with the Lagos State Government.
"If there is any inconsistency in the tax assessments, the Onyemas and Air Peace are open to engaging with the Lagos State Government to review and resolve any issues in a manner that ensures transparency, clarity, and due process," said a spokesperson for the airline.
Air Peace also reiterated its dedication to enhancing Nigeria's aviation industry, highlighting that its leaders have consistently exhibited integrity, resilience, and patriotism.
The airline reaffirmed its commitment to upholding professionalism and quality service, emphasizing that it will not be sidetracked from its mission to cater to its passengers.
