Akpabio: Tinubu's Administration is Highly Supportive of Christians

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has characterized the administration led by President Bola Tinubu as the most accommodating towards Christians in the last ten years.

This statement was made during a formal gathering in Jos, where Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang was welcomed into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Akpabio highlighted President Tinubu's dedication to both Christian and Muslim communities, asserting that the APC includes and supports all religious groups, while noting that the Christian populace has experienced greater benefits from the current government compared to previous administrations.

He remarked, "There have been widespread misconceptions suggesting this government is biased against a particular faith. However, I firmly believe no past administration in the last decade has been as supportive of Christians as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration."

The Senate President also expressed confidence in key party figures, indicating that they would not engage with a party that discriminates against Christians.

He assured Mutfwang of the government's commitment to addressing insecurity challenges in Plateau State and enhancing the well-being of its residents.

Akpabio reaffirmed the government's aim to uphold the rights of all Nigerians, regardless of their faith, stating intentions to assist President Tinubu in eliminating internally displaced persons (IDP) camps across the country.

He commended Governor Mutfwang for successfully elevating the political visibility of Plateau State, stating, "I would like to congratulate you, Mr. Governor, for your role in bringing Plateau's people into the core of Nigeria's political landscape. I assure you that the issue of insecurity in Plateau will soon be resolved."

Furthermore, he promised that the government would provide assistance across all sectors to improve the lives of Plateau citizens and emphasized the significance of the APC’s political reach in the North Central region, stating, "We will thoroughly support your government to enhance the conditions for your people. Today’s consolidation means all six states in the North Central zone have joined the APC, and with this government, peace will return to Plateau."
