Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha has made his first public statements following his release from incarceration, recounting the events that led to his conviction.

In a conversation on the show Talk to B, hosted by Abiola Adebayo, Baba Ijesha refuted the image that has been painted of him, asserting, "I’m not who they said I am."

He indicated that the complications began when he refused a personal introduction organized by comedian Princess (Damilola Adekoya), which he labeled as the origin of the ensuing troubles. According to him, this was a deliberate setup.

Baba Ijesha claimed that some people later approached him in prison to express regret, stating they had been incentivized to provide false testimony against him.

Discussing actress Iyabo Ojo, he conveyed his disappointment regarding her stance on his case. He emphasized that he had never pursued romantic interest in her and pointed out that she had once trusted him with her children.

“What hurt me about Iyabo Ojo is that she has put her children in my care when they were younger… Iyabo is my product, and I can’t ruin her,” he remarked.

The actor was found guilty in 2022 for the abuse of Princess’s foster daughter and served his sentence, regaining his freedom in 2025.

He also reflected on his prison experiences, thanking those who lent him support during that challenging time.
