Benin Monarch Seeks Enhanced Investment from African, European Partners

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has emphasized the need for new strategic business plans to overcome economic challenges. He met with African and European business leaders to explore sustainable investment opportunities in Edo State and Nigeria.

His Royal Highness, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, has highlighted the critical need for developing fresh strategic business blueprints to effectively navigate current national economic complexities.

The monarch conveyed this while hosting a delegation of business development partners from Africa and Switzerland. He stressed the importance of identifying new avenues for sustainable investment and strengthening collaborations within Edo State and across Nigeria.

During the meeting, Oba Ewuare II welcomed Alfred Okoigun, Group Managing Director of Arco Group Plc; John Davenport, President of Sulzer services for Europe, Africa, and the UK; and Henry Craukamp, Head of the SSA region and Managing Director of Sulzer Pumps in South Africa. The Oba acknowledged their sustained commitment to high standards, which has been instrumental in boosting Nigeria’s GDP and advancing the oil and gas sector.

Furthermore, the Benin monarch commended the delegation's leader for their steadfastness, network building, and determined pursuit of opportunities with remarkable resilience over the past four decades.

"We pray that the Almighty God and our ancestors bless us with the rewards of our efforts. We have been working tirelessly since last year. I recognize you as a diligent worker, and I am certain your contributions to Nigeria's GDP are substantial. We express our gratitude for your vision; this moment signifies a new achievement for you," Oba Ewuare II stated.

In his address, Alfred Okoigun remarked that the collaboration with the international partners marks a significant step forward in local content development within Nigeria.

Michael Okoigun, the Managing Director of Arco Maintenance and Engineering, who facilitated this partnership, accompanied the delegation to the palace for this significant engagement.
