The Adamawa State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the death of a 46-year-old man found hanging from a tree in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command, verified that the deceased was Ahmed Mohammed, who resided in Anguwan Hona within Girei.
The body was discovered on Sunday at the base of Bagale Mountain and subsequently transported to Cottage Hospital in Girei, where a medical professional pronounced him dead.
On March 23, 2026, the Adamawa State Police Command received a report regarding an unexpected and unnatural death following the finding of a body hanging from a tree at the base of Bagale Mountain in Girei.
Ahmed Mohammed, a 46-year-old male from Anguwan Hona, was declared dead by a doctor upon arrival at Cottage Hospital in Girei.
The police have stated that efforts are underway to uncover the reasons behind the man's death. They are urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid the investigation.
