Isaac Fayose has revealed that his wife is suffering from cancer.
The businessman, who is the brother of Ayo Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti state, recounted his recent journey to Australia to be with his ailing wife.
In a distressing moment, he shared that she was so frail that she could barely speak or greet him.
He recounted how his wife, who usually picks him up from the airport, was unable to do so, forcing him to take a cab back home. While she used to cook for him, he found himself in the kitchen on this occasion.
During his visit, he held her hand and sang their cherished song, 'Abide With Me'.
Fayose addressed politicians, pressing them to acknowledge that their accumulation of wealth, often at the expense of the populace, is ultimately futile. He reminded them that death comes for all, regardless of their wealth, even if they hoard resources intended for the people.
He lamented, "Our million-dollar home couldn’t save my wife; my riches were useless. She lay there holding my hand, unable to grip it tightly."
Fayose questioned, "Why continue impoverishing others and seizing what rightfully belongs to them, knowing you will eventually leave this world?"
He expressed his determination to devote his remaining time to advocating for the common citizen and assisting them in their struggles.
