Manchester United has officially stated that Casemiro will part ways with the club when his contract comes to an end this summer.
The Brazilian international joined Manchester United in 2022 from Real Madrid and has made a total of 146 appearances for the team.
His departure marks the conclusion of a four-year journey at Old Trafford, during which he contributed significantly by scoring in the League Cup final victory in 2023 and competing in two FA Cup finals, clinching the title in 2024.
Additionally, Casemiro was instrumental in helping the team reach the Europa League final in May last year.
A statement from the club read: "Casemiro will be leaving Manchester United this summer as his contract concludes. The revered midfielder has spent four seasons with the club, featuring in 146 matches and scoring 21 goals thus far.
"A proven champion, Casemiro was revealed at Old Trafford in August 2022, quickly becoming a fan favorite thanks to his aggressive style and capability to score pivotal goals. The captain of Brazil played a key role in securing the Carabao Cup for United in 2023, netting a crucial header in a fantastic performance against Newcastle United.
"The 33-year-old also celebrated an FA Cup victory in 2024. Fans will have the chance to honor Casemiro’s contributions during the final home match of the season against Nottingham Forest."
Casemiro expressed his sentiments, stating, "Manchester United will always remain in my heart. From the moment I stepped onto this magnificent pitch, I felt the spirit of Old Trafford and the affection I share with the supporters of this unique club.
"It is not yet time to bid farewell; there are still numerous memories to create in the next few months. We have a lot still to achieve together, and I will remain entirely focused on giving my all to aid our club’s success."
He further remarked on his Instagram: "Recognizing when phases come to a close is vital. Understanding when to say goodbye, knowing you will be cherished and honored forever."
