Activist Harrison Gwamnishu has raised concerns regarding security in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, following a robbery at a hotel where both staff and guests were assaulted by intruders.

Gwamnishu released CCTV footage that documented the robbery, revealing that one male customer was killed during the ordeal. He reported that the attackers restrained the security personnel at the entrance, proceeded to rob visitors within the hotel, and fatally injured a guest.

''This incident was a hotel robbery. Armed robbers raided the establishment, bound the guards at the gates, and looted the entire premises, taking personal belongings from customers and even killing one guest staying at the hotel,'' he stated.

He emphasized that hotels should not be perceived as safe havens anymore.

''Do you think staying in a hotel is a guarantee for your safety? It is not. Anyone can enter a hotel to commit robbery. Be it your house or a supposedly secure hotel, always remain vigilant because your activities can be monitored. They are aware of your movements in and out. Stay alert and prioritize your safety,'' he urged.

Gwamnishu further advised individuals encountering security issues to contact the Delta State Police Control Room at 08036684974 (available 24/7) or reach out to Safe City via WhatsApp or phone at 09068773333.
