Dangote Industries Limited, a prominent Pan-African conglomerate, has formalised a strategic cooperation agreement with XCMG Construction Machinery Co. Ltd, a leading Chinese manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. This alliance is designed to enhance infrastructure delivery, expand industrial capacity, and support green project development throughout Africa.
The agreement outlines a collaborative effort between the two entities across key sectors, including mining, petrochemicals, construction materials, agriculture, and infrastructure building. The objective is to harness their individual strengths to achieve mutual growth and sustained value creation.
Dangote Group, recognised as Africa's largest diversified industrial conglomerate, has extensive operations in cement production, petrochemicals, fertilizers, agriculture, food processing, mining, and logistics across Nigeria and other African nations. The group is actively pursuing expansion of its capacity and market presence, with an ambitious target to reach a scale of $100 billion by 2030.
XCMG, a foundational company in China's construction machinery sector, operates globally with a diverse portfolio encompassing construction and mining machinery, agricultural equipment, emergency rescue systems, and commercial vehicles. The company boasts a substantial international network, including approximately 300 overseas dealerships and 11 overseas manufacturing and KD plants, with its products distributed in over 190 countries and regions. XCMG is also focused on advancing its capabilities in high-end, intelligent, and environmentally friendly manufacturing.
As part of this cooperation, XCMG will provide support to Dangote Group through its established African sales and service infrastructure. This includes facilitating site visits for Dangote personnel to China and offering logistical assistance. XCMG is also set to deploy specialised project teams to develop integrated equipment and service solutions tailored for Dangote's projects, particularly in areas such as open-pit mining, petrochemicals, building materials, and agricultural processing.
The partnership will also concentrate on sustainability and innovation. XCMG will leverage its expertise in comprehensive equipment solutions, new energy technologies, and intelligent systems to support Dangote's significant projects. Both companies intend to collaborate on the development of new electric equipment, promote exemplary environmentally sound project practices, and work towards reducing carbon emissions and operational expenditures.
This agreement establishes a framework for enhanced collaboration, founded on mutual trust and shared developmental objectives.
Subject to compliance with applicable laws and policies, both parties will receive preferential consideration for projects arising from this partnership.
The deal signifies Dangote Group's strategic focus on deepening industrial capacity across Africa through alliances with global leaders, aligning with XCMG's goals to expand its reach and service offerings on the continent.
