Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has issued an appeal to eligible youths within the state, urging them to seize the opportunity presented by the Nigerian Army's 91 Regular Recruits Intake and join the force.

This encouragement was conveyed in a statement released on Tuesday in Benin by the governor's spokesperson, Patrick Ebojele. The statement indicated that the call follows the scheduled visit of a Nigerian Army sensitisation team to Edo State, which is set to take place from April 8th to April 14th.

The purpose of the Army's visit is to engage with, guide, and support prospective applicants throughout the entire recruitment process.

Governor Okpebholo stressed the importance of qualified young men and women in the state participating in this recruitment exercise. He described it as a gateway to stable employment, fulfilling national duty, and achieving personal growth through a career in the Nigerian Army.

"I urge Edo youths to come forward in large numbers to improve the state’s participation and meet its national quota in the Army recruitment exercise. It is a chance for young Edo people to build disciplined and purposeful careers," the governor stated.

He further called upon parents, guardians, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious bodies, and youth organisations to actively mobilise and encourage eligible candidates in their respective communities to enlist.

Governor Okpebholo advised interested applicants to consult the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal for comprehensive details regarding eligibility criteria, necessary qualifications, and the application procedure.

He also urged candidates to ensure they have all required documentation prepared before attending the designated sensitisation centres during the specified period.

"The Edo State Government remains committed to fostering opportunities for its youth and calls for collective support to ensure the successful execution of this exercise," he added.
