Edo State's Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has made the decision to dismiss his Special Adviser on Youth Mobilisation, Aigbogun Collins.
According to reports from Daily Trust, the dismissal of Aigbogun occurs in the wake of ongoing investigations into a violent anti-kidnapping protest that took place in Ekpoma, located in the Esan West Local Government Area. This demonstration led to significant property destruction and looting.
Sources noted that Collins was allegedly arrested following the governor's mandate for an investigation into the incidents.
In addition, the governor has appointed Christopher Udobor Iyase as the new Special Adviser to take over from Collins.
The governor's announcement was conveyed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, which was made accessible to journalists in Benin City.
The statement further mentioned Iyase's appointment, highlighting his dedication to youth mobilisation and his genuine concern for the welfare of young people throughout Edo State.
